In order to fix a roof leak, you must first check the roof for missing or damaged shingles, remove any debris, apply roofing cement or sealant to small cracks or gaps, replace any damaged shingles with new ones, secure them with roofing nails, make sure all edges are sealed with roofing adhesive, check the flashing around vents or chimneys and replace or reseal as needed, check the attic for water damage, and make sure there is enough ventilation to stop leaks in the future.
